Taste of Bratislava – Staré Město

The capital city of Slovakia is situated on the Danube close to the Austrian border and a short journey from both Hungary and the Czech republic. The city is dominated by the castle, which sits on a plateau above the Danube. The Old Town is quite compact but has a great selection of bars and restaurants, together with the usual tourist shops and fast food outlets. Due to its popularity with stag parties the old town is not always a place I enjoy socialising in, it certainly lacks the relaxed feel of Kosice for example. However on this afternoon, the city was at its best – so accompanied by my little Leica Q I tried to capture the flavour of the cobbled streets of the Staré Město. Hopefully for anyone planning to visit the city, it gives a feel of what to expect of a night out in the city
