Just outside the small town of Báb in the Nitra district is the Penzión Sýpka offering rooms and a great restaurant. We have visited a couple of times and the food is wonderful, the portions huge and the service friendly. No wonder it is so popular with the locals.
I really enjoyed Ludvíkovo pečené koleno na pive a cesnaku which is the house version of a Slovakian speciality: pig knee cooked in beer and garlic. Nicci and I have also tried the Sedlákovo grilované rebro na mede a chilli, opekané zemiaky which is two large racks of ribs cooked in sweet chilli and honey served with roasted potatoes – absolutely sensational! This place has a great feel, with an outside terrace and an amazing menu.
We are looking forward to our next visit
