We learnt from our Slovakian landlord that “Wellness” is an important part of Slovakian life. I guess in the UK we use the term Spa for the same thing. There appears to be a fantastic range of hotels and guest houses offering wellness, from the humble Pensions to the grand Spa hotels such as the 5* Kempinski in the High Tatras.
This is something Nicci and I are really looking forward to and, as many of them allow dogs, we shall be going regularly. The Kempinski also has the added benefit of offering skiing in the winter months also. Some of the others are closer, within 30 minutes of our village. We’ll give a full report on all the places we visit over the next few years.
I’ve also sorted out my language training. This is going to be one to one tuition at home in Slovakia, eight hours a week for six months. Quite intensive, but I really believe that this is going to be the key to a successful life in Slovakia. As I will be doing most of the day to day stuff, while Nicci is working, I’m hoping that it’s going to be time well spent.
